We were thrilled to co-organize “The Future of Fund Data Standards in Europe” alongside FundsXML on March 26, 2025, at the SIX Convention Point in Zurich – a landmark event that brought together over 130 attendees from across the European fund data ecosystem.

This engaging and forward-looking gathering marked a major step in the collective effort to harmonize and future-proof fund data standards.

💡 The lively discussions clearly highlighted the challenges we face – from data ownership and quality to IT integration and operational costs – but also the immense opportunity that lies in working together toward greater alignment and efficiency.

Speakers explored emerging trends in fund data, the need for interoperability, and the evolving role of common frameworks in meeting both regulatory and market demands.

🔹 Practical impact of standardization: A case study on FundsXML showcased how adopting standardized data formats can significantly streamline operations and enhance data quality across the fund industry.

🔹 Regulatory developments on the horizon: A deep dive into the upcoming European Single Access Point (ESAP) highlighted its potential to become a centralized hub for financial and sustainability-related information across the EU.

🔹 Market needs under the spotlight: A lively panel discussion explored whether the industry needs more or fewer fund data standards—shedding light on the challenges and opportunities of harmonization from multiple market perspectives.

The networking reception that followed created the perfect setting for professionals from across the fund industry to reconnect, exchange ideas, and form new collaborations.

We at openfunds are excited to build on this momentum and look forward to organizing such an event again in the near future. To stay tuned, subscribe to our newsletter here or follow us on LinkedIn.
