We are pleased to announce the release of openfunds Field version 2.14.0, published on 24 September 2026.
The new version introduces a range of additions and enhancements to the openfunds standard, reflecting regulatory developments as well as continued input from our industry working groups.
Among the key changes are:
- Private Markets / Terms & Conditions: the introduction of the new OFTC field range, developed by the Private Markets Working Group to enable the structured and machine-readable exchange of fund Terms & Conditions.
- Liquidity Management Tools (LMTs): the new field OFST351350 “ESMA Liquidity Management Tools”, capturing the LMTs selected by UCITS and open-ended AIFs in line with the latest ESMA Guidelines.
- EFAMA EFC Fund Classification: the openfunds field set has been extended to support the structured capture of the full EFC classification result.
- Industry identifiers: a number of widely used identifiers have been added to the public openfunds field list, including IA Fund Code, Lipper IDs, Morningstar Fund and Share Class IDs and MEXID.
- Further additions: new fields include Crypto Currencies Allowed, Type of Crypto Exposure and Ramp-up Period End Date.
- The release also incorporates the FinDatEx EET 1.1.3 editorial update, together with various field clarifications, corrections and an EMT editorial update.

Looking further ahead: our next major release
openfunds is currently planning its next major field release for Q3 2027. Unlike a regular release, this will include the permanent removal of fields that have previously and up to version 2.14.0 been marked as deprecated or “no longer supported”.
For users of the openfunds standard, this means there is plenty of time to prepare – but we recommend reviewing deprecated fields early, identifying any fields still used in internal systems or interfaces, and migrating to the applicable replacement fields ahead of the major release.
We will provide further communication and guidance well in advance of the transition.
